Collingwood grew by 11.3% in the 2011 Census, putting it in the top 15 urban areas in Canada. GTA growth was 5.1%.

Re-sale unit home sales in January 2012 were up 36.8% and total $ volume up 43% compared to the same month last year. Most notable increased were 56.7% in homes sold between $200K-$349K , 81.8% increase in homes priced $350K-$499K and a 300% increase in homes priced over $1 Million.
