This summer will be a busy one, as many events around Toronto and the world are taking place. First up is the Fifa World Cup, in South Africa. In just 3 days fans all over the world will converge in Johannesburg, and their local bar or the nearest television set. For the next 30 days the world will be in the grip of intense soccer action as the cup unfolds, who will be the winner? As for local entertainment Pride Week is the first up, June 25th to 4th of July. The Pride Parade will be held on July 3rd and 4th. Will it be as colorful and exciting as last year?
This other event may not be high on your event agenda unless you plan to exercise your right to free speech. Yes the G20 is here and so are the 8 feet tall fences that go along with it. The world leaders will converge on the Toronto Convention Center and Queens Park on June 26 and 27 and so will the protesters. The enormous security preparation are in full swing, from Lakeshore to Queens Park with the newspaper boxes and garbage bins gone. But the best is yet to come as Caribana Parade Weekend swings into full gear July 30th to August 1st. Will you be at one of the best parties in town?
