Fire Safety and Your home.
The week of October 2 – 9 is fire prevention week. You need to check all your smoke detectors. Canadian researches show that 50% of people who tamper with their smoke detectors, forget that they did it. So replace batteries, push the test button, and replace any smoke detector 10 years or older. A working detector doubles your chance of escaping a fire. A Fire Escape Plan is at most times overlooked. Do you have one for your home? If not, here some tips: Draw a layout of your house. Each room should have all the windows and doors marked, as well 2 exits should be marked for each room. Pick a common meeting place, and run a fire drill at least 2 times a year. Will this help you in a event of a fire?
