OAKVILLE: Remembrance Day 2013 - LEST WE FORGET

The sacrifices made by Canada’s veterans were recognized Monday, November 4th at the 12th annual Veterans’ Appreciation Luncheon in Oakville.

Veteran's week is about honouring the 118,000 men and women who have paid the price for freedom with their lives.  The community of Oakville extends their gratitude and pride to all who have served with bravery and distinction and will always be remembered.

Remembrance Day Services in Oakville

Remembrance Day will be marked by parades and memorial services by both of the Royal Canadian Legions in Oakville.

The Royal Canadian Legion, Oakville, Branch 114, will assemble for an 11 a.m. service on Monday, Nov. 11 at the Cenotaph in George’s Square, on Trafalgar Road, just a block north of Lakeshore Road.

These services will be attended by local officials, politicians, police and other representatives and include memorial tributes, prayers, music and the laying of wreaths.
