Ladysmith, QC, Canada Real Estate Listings and Information

Ladysmith is found in the Municipality of Thorne in the Pontiac Regional County Municipality, about 63 kilometers (39 mi) northwest of  Ottawa/Gatineau and 21 km east of Shawville.   The surrounding area has many farms as well as several lakes (Barnes, Johnson, Mecham, Sparling, Thorne, and Toote) surrounded by white pine forests.   These lovely sand-bottom lakes are favourite cottage sites for National Capital Region residents throughout the year. 

Founded by German immigrants in the mid-1800’s, this little village of approximately 400 residents hosts Quebec’s largest Oktoberfest festival the first weekend in October which boasts a weekend attendance of 8000 to 10000 to celebrate it's own German heritage.  

German and country music concerts, Oktoberfest sausages and homemade sauerkraut and giant pumpkins make for a fabulous fall event.
