The City of Humboldt is named after Baron Alexander von Humboldt, a famous scientist, explorer and author who was born in Prussia in 1769. Humboldt became a city in November of 2000 and the population currently sits at 5,577, with a trading area of approximately 28,000. Humboldt is located on Hwy's 5 and 20 and is conveniently located 1 hour east of Saskatoon. Humboldt is a striving community with excellent recreation, education and retail services. A new hospital and high school are to be complete in the very near future.
