8 week countdown to listing your home-week 3 details

before  after

It's all in the Details!

You’ve sorted and purged, fixed and repaired, refreshed, and cleaned until you couldn’t clean anymore!

Now we are ready for the final part of preparing your home to sell. Staging is about more than furniture placement, colour, and decorating.   True staging is the process that creates a mood or a feeling when you walk into a room.  Stagers have been professionally trained to make a room appeal to the senses in the same way a professional window dresser makes you want to buy that outfit in the store window, or the way a movie set evokes an emotion.  Your mood and attitude at this point is critical as well.   The more you can detach yourself from your home emotionally, the better equipped you will be during the selling process and the negotiating process.

A stager does not want you to spend a lot of money.  On the contrary, they will use items that belong to you whenever possible.  Most stagers also have an inventory of items they can rent to you. Alternatively, they will go shopping with you for accent pieces you like, that you can take with you to your next home.  Fees for staging professionals vary depending on your location and demand.

Many people still ignore staging as frivolous or unnecessary.  Will your home sell without staging?  Quite likely, yes it will..in time.  However staging will help it sell for more money in less time which means less inconvenience for you and more money in your pocket.

Part of my listing package includes a 2 hour consult with a professional stager.  It is well worth it. Call me for a list of stagers in your area.
