Winter Pet Care

My beloved Slyder.

Snow Babies.

As the weather gets colder we typically change the way we dress and look after ourselves.  It may be just a warmer coat or boots or it may include more moisturizer for dry skin or scarves.  Just like our needs change with the weather, so too do the needs for our pets.  People sometimes mistakenly think that dogs are especially are able to withstand colder temperatures.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Please take the time to go over this pet care guide for colder weather and if you know a new pet owner please pass it along.  IF you have a dog that does like to be outside even in colder weather, make sure it has a fully insulated shelter with a wind break and fresh unfrozen water is a must.

Most people get very distressed when they hear a dog barking continuously to come inside when the weather is unpleasant.  Pets are meant to be companions and be by our sides.  At the very least, as their guardian you are responsible for their safety and comfort.  Wishing you and your pets a happy and safe winter.
