Area building permits shows continued growth

City of Moncton building permits, year to date have hit $88.5 million according to an article in the Times Transcript by Brent Mazerolle.  This is a two hundred and fifty percent increase over this time last year. Developments like a third Cora's in the McManaman building on Mapleton Rd., Ashford's new building on Main and Vaugh Harvey, the new court house and continued work at the casinois keeping the commercial side of the construction side busy.  On the residential side, the builders appear to be as busy as last year as well.

City councillors are looking at a study for a new arena to replace out 40 year old Collisium.  The new facility is rumoured to have about 50% more seating which will be great for our Major Junior AAA Wildcats as well as the several smaller concerts and events held at the Colisium each year.
