CREA Annual meeting

I spent Tuesday to Thursday in Gatineau for CREA's Annual conference.  Great meetings as always.  One of our guest speakers at the Leadership meetings was Justin Trudeau.  Very impressive speaker and really knows his stuff.  he has retired from teaching and has moved back to Montreal to run for the Liberals in the next election.  I suspect he will be Prime Minister in less than 10 years.

We had representatives from FINTRAC there to explain changes coming in June in regards to additional infromation REALTORS will have to collect from clients and customers.  Now we will need to have proof of identification before a deal is finalized.  In NB we have relied on the Lawyers to do this as part of registering a property on Land Titles.  Now we need to do it as well.  This goes along with reporting suspicious transactions or attempted transactions and cash deposits over $10,000.  Unfortunately they are not insisting that private for sale companies to do this so I guess that's where all the crooks will go since organized real estate will be onto them. Just one more worry for those people who want to sell on their own.
