Ok everyone - it's crunch time. On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Mr. Robert Bell, co-founder of the Intelligent Community Foundation, will be in our fair City finalizing the choice for Most Intelligent City.
He will be having breakfast on Wednesday with community leaders and business people at the Capital Theatre and then spends the balance of the day touring local businesses and schools. Thursday sees him having breakfast with a few of the City's bloggers (including myself) and then more tours. It looks like he will be thoroughly briefed on our Community by the time Ben Champoux and the rest of his City Hall team is finished with him.
Good luck to all the people at City Hall who have worked many hours to try to bring this honour to our community. Getting into the top 7 is quite an accomplishment in itself, but winning would just put the icing on the cake.
I am told the Opening Ceremonies for the World Cup Curling was very impressive and in spite of some tricky ice, there has been some tremendous curling taking place. Once again the volunteers in the community have come out and shown why big events always seem to succeed here. People just naturally get out and help and do there best to show visitors a good time.
PS - GO CATS GO
