Contrary to all the doom and gloom hear from the National media, our real estate market remains strong. At the end of July, year to date listings were up 4%, and the dollar volume was up 8%. Our number of units sold was off a bit at 5%, but the increased prices kept our volumes good. This is compared to the 2007 numbers which was a continuation of several years of record volumes. ...

The Greater Moncton Real Estate Board's Dragon Boat team showed what they were made of on Saturday by raising the most money ($5500) of any team in the annual competition on Jones Lake. More importantly, over $90,000 was raised during the day for Charity.

I spent Tuesday to Thursday in Gatineau for CREA's Annual conference. Great meetings as always. One of our guest speakers at the Leadership meetings was Justin Trudeau. You also get a good idea of vacancy rates, new construction starts and so on. I find by going to these type of events and doing some reading I can keep up on trends that help out my clients.
Here are some of the more interesting ...

Last Wednesday the Atlantic Brokers and their sales associates gathered in Halifax for our annual meeting. As always Century 21 put on a great function with three very good guest speakers. However, the highlight for me was Catriona LeMay Doan, one of our very successful Olympic Speed Skaters. She is now retired and she spoke about her Olympic experiences and the value of goal setting ...
