It was s suitable party as over 12,000 people gathered at the new track and field stadium at U de M to welcome the Olympic flame to our area. It had made its way over from PEI earlier in the day and went through Moncton last night.
This morning it wound it's way through Riverview and headed towards Fundy Park, Sussex and on to Saint John. My wife and I watched as the torch was passed ...

I spoke with the CEO of the Greater Moncton Real Estate Board today and she told me that the Board has already met the volume sold for November 2008. That is good news as it shows we are continuing to stay strong going into the winter season.
I heard Spencer Rascoff interviewed on Fox TV yesterday. He is COO of Zillow,, a big listing web site in the US. He is predicting another ...

NAR 2009, held in beautiful San Diego, was once again a mind expanding series of seminars over 3 1/2 days. As with last years conference in Orlando, I came away educated, stimulated and invigorated, and probably a couple or other "ateds" I can't think of right now!
Social media networking and technology were the major topics of discussion this year. The economy wasn't nearly ...

I am down in San Diego attending the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). They have an amazing set of speakers and the seminars are very diverse. I really enjoy these sessions as they allow for some excellent opportunities to network with REALTORS from all over the world since there is a large International contingent here as well.
Once again Social Networking and the use of new technology ...

Unfortunately it looks like we're going to have winter again this year. You would think we could skip one every now and then. I maintain it will be difficult to convince a Maritimer that Global warming is a bad thing!!!
Although fall is definately here, our real estate market is staying fairly steady. Lots of projects still on the go with the Casino on Mountain Rd., the new Courthouse ...

I was privledged to be asked, for the third year, to be part of the "Big Bike Ride' in Moncton to raise money for the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation. Once again I was on the "Leaders With Heart" team and, collectively, we raised $25,000 for NBHSF.
This is a fun event with a great "Heart Healthy" meal served up by the terrific staff at Bogart's, some excellent guest speakers, and an RCMP escorted ...

CMHC recently released their numbers for August and it is a reason to smile. Their seasonally adjusted rate for new housing starts was up 12.1% to 150,400. Not as good as 2008, but better than they had originally forcasted so some signs of recovery in the air.
At our local board, August was very good. Our volume sold was 3% higher than Aug '08 and 4% higher than Aug '07. Our ...

The Peter Gzowski Invitational Golf Tournament for Literacy was another big hit this year. The golf was played at Royal Oaks and the gala dinner was well attended too. Over $1.1M has been raised in NB since "The Gzowski" started here. Sheila Rogers from CBC was in attendence and calls the Moncton location the "Cadalliac" location for the tournament.
Mr. Dave Perkins, CEO of ...
