Summer is here full swing and the festivals are thick on the ground. This past weekend saw a big Acadian festival in Dieppe which included the International Kyte Festival. Kytes were here from all over the world doing stunts, tricks and "battles" with one another.

The rain held off long enough for a great party in downtown Moncton to celebrate Canada Day. There were really good crowds all afternoon and part of Main Street, in front of City Hall, was blocked off to allow for a concert stage. Several bands kept the crowds entertained until 9:30 when everyone went down to the water front for a very impressive fireworks display. (I really love fireworks) ...

Here is another example of NB hitting above its weight. Fredericton High (FHS) and Moncton High(MHS) have been selected to be among only 7 high schools in Canada to attend the International Performing Arts festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is one of the largest such festivals in the world.

I attended a meeting at the Capital Theatre today put on by the ICSC. It was the first such meeting ever held in Atlantic Canada. REALTORS(r) from the Greater Moncton Real Estate Board spent the day paddling their hearts out in the Annual Dragon Boat races on Jones Lake. They managed to get to the final 9 boats and finished eighth overall. Here are a few pictures from the day.
