More Great News for Moncton

It just keeps getting better and better.  Recently the Intelligent Communities Forum (ICF) released its short list of the Top 21 intelligent communities in the world.  Nearly 400 communities were in the selection process, including 18 from Canada, and Moncton was chosen to be in the Top 21.  Pretty impressive I think!  Hats off to Ben Champoux and Dan Babineau of the City of Moncton ...

Remains of first politician discovered!!!!

Archeologists working on a dig in Ottawa have discovered 10,000 year old bones they believe could be the remains of the first politician.  See picture below.  As I watch what has been going on in Ottawa this past week or so, I don't think much has changed.  Except of course our dollar has dropped 3 cents against the US dollar and the TSX is down 800 points or so since the ...

Message to Metro Moncton - stop listening to the News!!!!!!

Now that the news media has spent the last 6 weeks scaring the bejeebers out of everyone I want you all to take a deep breath and look around.  In general the area looks the same.  Bumper to bumper traffic going to Champlain Mall and don't even ask me about Costco on the weekend!  Car sales appear to be holding firm, retail is up.  The Greater Moncton Real Estate Board is off a ...

Jack Frost visits Moncton

Check these photos I snapped this morning downtown near the Blue Cross Center, City Hall and BMO building.  Sometimes winter isn't so bad.

Great times at NAR

I just nicely got back from the National Association of Realtors convention in Orlando, Florida.  It was my first NAR convention and what an experience! There were approximately 20,000 REALTORS present from all over the world.  One day I had lunch with a Broker from Bugaria.  THAT was an interesting experience.  They have only had a real estate market for 15 years and you still ...

First real snow of the season!!!!!!!

Good Evening Metro Moncton.  How about that snow?  You would think it was November in the Maritimes. I have a bit more on the article in Canadian Real Estate Magazine about Moncton being a "safe haven" for real estate investment.  Things like slow, steady growth in our market, low unemployment, reasonable housing prices (ave mls price $157,000 +-) and a very good quality of like are ...
