The Greater Moncton Real Estate Board's Dragon Boat team showed what they were made of on Saturday by raising the most money ($5500) of any team in the annual competition on Jones Lake. More importantly, over $90,000 was raised during the day for Charity.
This was the rookie season for our intrepid paddlers who went by the catchy name of the Realtor Care Rowers. Leading the squad was past President of the Board and member of the Century 21 Countryside management team, Steve MacWilliam. Also on the team was Jan Keirstead, Pam Jeffery and Gayle Clark proud members of Century 21 Countryside as well. Jan was also voted "best drummer" for her enthusiam with the drum and her Cleopatra costume.
Not only did the mighty REALTORS show their fund raising ability they turned out to be pretty darn good paddlers as well, finishing fourth overall and missing third place by a few fractions of a second. There were 37 teams and over 800 paddlers entered this year and organizers said the entire event was a huge success.
It just goes to show what can be accomplished when we all row in the same direction. Congratulations to the Realtor Care Rowers for representing the Greater Moncton Real Estate board so well.
