Introducing Ages & Stages consignment shop in East York (aka the Bakery District)

My newest blog segment is going to me interviewing some of the local businesses that support me. Nicki has an amazing talent for knowing what young parents need with their babies and kids and is helping parents by offering the chance to use her store to help sell items they no longer need.

Here is my interview with her:

When did you start your business?

I started my business 13 years ago this month. I guess a number of factors influenced me to start this type of business.

What is your business background?

My background before this business involved retail, hospitality and finally I went to George Brown and graduated from the Child and Youth worker program. I then worked in daycare for another 7 years and by this point now had 2 children, I was ready for a new adventure! My youngest was 3 at the time, and I had always loved shopping second hand and getting a bargain, who dosen't?

Why did you choose this area?

I thought the "Danforth needed its own gently used kids store.so approached different groups of women to see if they felt the same.It appeared this was true so that is how my business was born...so to speak! This is my third location on the Danforth...I have kept moving down the block between Monarch Park to my current location at 1552, closer to Coxwell Ave.

Do you want your local business profiled here? Let me know.
