This is the year that I bought my first home in East York. I was 24 years old and ready to embrace a life with a big mortgage on my shoulders (back then it was about $130k I was borrowing which seemed huge in retrospect).
Since then, I have moved 3 times ALL within East York finding the home that worked for my life at that time. First it was a bungalow. Next it was an updated bungalow. The latest find was a builder owned home that was only 5 years old when we found it. The nicest house I have ever had and great neighbours too.
Amazing school, diverse shops from Value Village (a MUST resource if you choose to have kids), The Twelfth Fret (guitar heaven), Celena's Bakery, Caketown, Circus coffee, Ages and Stages Consignment and so much more.
In addition to loving it here, I have also managed some pretty amazing acheivements. For one, type in "Holborne Ave" in Google? Click here for a 1 click way to do it. I have been the FIRST in this search for many years now and it shows. Many of area buyers start by googling the streets they like (a must do in this day of grow ops, meth labs, etc). Without going into too much detail, its the same for MANY addresses in East York, downtown Toronto and all points in between. As a SMART seller, you should not be hiring a realtor who has to reinvent the wheel everytime they list a home. Its far better if that realtor has an established presence to start from.
If you are serious about making a smart move to or from this area, be sure you speak to at least 3 active area professionals in addition to me. Today's realtor is NOT just a realtor. If they do not understand SEO, google key words, Geo targeting....you are NOT getting your full value from them. Friends don't let friends hire unqualified realtors. There are NO do overs in this business and losing $100k plus due to simply using the guy with his face on a flyer is NOT smart.
