Professional Background
Paulette has over 17 years of business management, case management, self-employment, and real estate experience. Paulette is an Occupational Therapist and a Real Estate Agent - an amazing combination in the world of home purchase/sales since we deal with the impact of moving on the client's and the client's family on a daily basis. Real estate was a natural fit for my various goals and business/self-employment background. Thinking outside the box - real estate and her career in Occupational Therapy melded together perfectly.
Utilizing her case management and health care skills has enabled Paulette to develop a large client base that keep returning for additional services and/or referring their friends and family. Every real estate transaction is special and she ensures client satisfaction!
Paulette has moved herself numerous times giving her personal experience with the upheaval moving can cause. Paulette is originally from Newfoundland - she has also lived in Ontario and now calls Nova Scotia her home. I have a strong love for First Time Home Buyers - I enjoy teaching them all the steps along the way. It's important that they be treated right the first time so that each and every transaction after are also successful. I have a strong desire to ensure that each of my clients find the right home for them. Being faced with a happy client at the end of the transaction makes me happy! I'm also very interested in people relocating - either from away to the HRM or within the HRM! If you're moving, I'm your gal! With my Occupational Therapy background, I strive to have each house "fit" my client. When I am working with clients with diabilities or have special needs, my end goal is to know that they will be safe and comfortable in their environment. Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES), Aging in Place, Mature Moves, Home Modification Specialist- Occupational therapists consult with building industry professionals including contractors, architects and designers regarding home modifications for barrier free design. The demand for occupational therapy in barrier-free housing will increase as our population continues to age, and people need assistance in maintaining independence in their own homes.

Personal Background
I'm a true Newfie at heart! I was born in Pasadena, Newfoundland - a small community just outside Corner Brook on the west coast. My parents were both teachers - so let's just say I had a disciplined and well-educated upbringing. I started dating my present husband in Grade 11! In 1991, I moved to the big city of Halifax to complete my degree in Occupational Therapy. It was definitely an experience being away from my little community. I graduated in 1994 and moved back to Newfoundland to work as an Occupational Therapist in the Grand Falls-Windor hospital. At this time, my boyfriend received a job with Air Canada in Quebec, so again we were separated. In 1996, my boyfriend was transferred to Toronto and I quickly followed. I began working with with a company called Toronto Occupational Therapy Associates - working with clients involved in car accidents. In 2000, I finally ventured out on my own and opened OT Solutions. This was extremely successful! I was married in 2001 to Desmond Upshall - my high school sweetheart. And in 2002, we were transferred back to Halifax, Nova Scotia. We now have 2 great boys (7 & 9) and we look forward to a long life in Nova Scotia!
Personal Interests
Wow - personal interests - I have dabbled in so many....Sports - taekwon do (geen belt) ball hockey, softball, volleyball, swimming...Crafts - scrapbooking, card making - well if I had time - lol!! Other Interests - Reading, family, computer games, facebook, msn, my iPhone, Friends!!! Travel - everywhere - I work to live!
Children - my two boys, Sean is 7 and Michael is 9, mean the world to me! They are just amazing! My husband Des is my backbone and the reason why I am able to work the hours I do!!
