Hammonds Plains Consolidated School

Our mission at Hammonds Plains Consolidated School, as part of a diverse, safe and caring community where we believe all children can learn, is to provide opportunities to enable individuals to reach their full potential, achieve excellence, respect and self worth through a challenging curriculum and a life long commitment to learning.
Hammonds Plains Consolidated School initially began as two schools merging into one larger school ( built on the present site in 1967) with twelve classrooms. The two communities were those of Upper Hammonds Plains (an African/Canadian community) and Hammonds Plains (a farming community of European descent).
In 1971, a four classroom addition was built. In 1996, additional renovations were completed. Rapid growth continued over the next few years. In the 2005-2006 school year we will start as a 21 classroom school from grades Primary to 5 including French Immersion. Our school community encompasses Highland Park, Yankeetown Rd., Maplewood Subdivision, Pockwock/Upper Hammonds Plains, Hammonds Plains Rd., and Glen Arbour and White Hills.
