Seniors, Baby Boomers, Individuals with Disabilities
There are presently 3.8 million Canadian households over the age of 55 who control over 500 billion dollars of real estate. This group will only continues to expand over the next 10 years. As more baby boomers reach late middle age, the overall demand for "special" services will increase. Special includes smaller houses or down-sizing, accessible houses, condominium living to decrease outside maintenance, or assisted living arrangements.
The need for housing for individuals with disabilities in Nova Scotia continues. Since I have a degree in Occupational Therapy, I am able to apply this knowledge to the present real estate market. Working with a team of professionals, we can find the right home for you. Should you need an accessible design (dwellings that meet specific requirements fofr accessibility), adaptable housing (increased doorway and hallway width, adjustable countertops and cobinetry, no steps, electrical and light switches placed at appropriate heights, larger bathrooms, wall reinforcements for hand raails, and accessible baths and toilets), or a barrier free home (a home that has no physical barriers such as steps, curbs or similar structures that would present a barrier to someone in a wheelchair), we can work together to find an appropriate home for you!
