This long awaited list arrived today! And it's so simple to access and register! It works for home phone, mobile phone, fax, and voip numbers!!
As your neighbourhood real estate agent, I'm emailing to let you know that those pesty telemarketing calls can now be requested to stop...log on to this national site to register your telephone, mobile phone, and fax numbers! Cheers to this!! There are of course limitations to the rules - and you can find all of these online as well!!
Instructions
1. Enter the residential, wireless, fax, or VoIP telephone number you wish to register by entering the area code followed by the number (e.g.: 819-555-1234). Click Continue.
2. Clicking the "Continue" button will take you to the confirmation required page that lets you confirm that the number you entered is correct. If the number is correct, type the confirmation code shown on the screen in the confirmation code field. If you are unable to read the confirmation code click on Can't read? Try another to generate a new code. If the number is not correct, click Change Number and enter the correct number.
3. Once you have confirmed the number entered is correct and entered the confirmation code, click Register.
4. You will be presented with important information about the National Do Not Call List (DNCL). Click Continue.
5. This will take you to the registration results page that will confirm the number has been successfully registered on the National DNCL.
6. If you wish to register another number click Register Another Number and start the process again at step 1. You can repeat this process for all of your telephone numbers.
I know that in the Real Estate World, there are many people that are not very happy about this development since it means that they cannot "cold call" homes. I welcome this change. It means that we as professionals have to back out and work with the people in our neighbours through networking, walking door to door, and getting involved in our communities. I'm all for this development - bring it on!!
As Dora and Boots would say "Swipper no Swipping" - but it's "Telemarketers no Calling!"
