In Regina, there were 569 single-detached housing starts last year, down 42% from 979 in 2008. There were 361 multiple-unit starts which is slightly lower than the 396 recorded in 2008.
According to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), this makes 2009 the slowest year for single family home construction in the last 6 years. Housing construction in Regina peaked at 1,400 ...
