Regina-Based Company to lead Plains Hotel Project
People are very optimistic about the Regina economy. Need proof? Check out the plans to redevelop the Plains Hotel found on the corner of Albert Street and Victoria Avenue in downtown Regina.
Westgate Development, a Regina-based firm, owns the Plains Hotel property and plans on building an eight-story hotel and 19-story condominium tower on the site. The City of Regina has proposed a downtown neighbourhood plan entitled ‘Walk to Work’. It is hoped the plan will increase residency downtown and the condominium complex would give people options to invest in real estate, according to Westgate Development Financing Director, Regina Kim. The units in the condominium tower would be of a luxury nature and could possibly bring value to Regina citizens in terms of investments.
