Calgary Real Estate Board-Calgary Housing Market Shows No Signs of Slowing

Calgary is moving in the opposite direction of national trends with both sales and price growth.  City of Calgary sales were up 23% from October last year and year to date sales are up almost 16%.  The benchmark price for a single family home was up 8% from October 2011, while year to date prices are up almost 3%.  Despite growth being higher than expected this year, the market is not overheating, rather returning to levels consistent with long term trends.  Prices still have not fully recovered from the recession.
