Century 21 Power Realty Ltd. In Drumheller, AB was proud to once again put on the Annual Santa's Christmas Dinner at Yavis' Restaurant in Drumheller, Alberta. Century 21 Broker Bob Sheddy invited Drumhellerites to, "A cozy dinner on Christmas Day, that has become a Christmas tradition in the valley for the last 30 years, last year hosting 271 guests."

The Annual Christmas Dinner was started by three local families in 1983, simply because there were not any restaurants open on Christmas Day in Drumheller. It has now become a place to enjoy Christmas dinner in the company of others.

"There are myriad reasons that our guests attend this dinner on Christmas," explained C21 Real Estate Associate Gary Chambers. "Maybe you decide not to cook because you do not have guests coming, or maybe you are too busy to cook a formal dinner at home, or possibly your family lives out of town and are unable to join you this year. Regardless of the reason, we enjoy the company of all of the people who are able to join us."

When asked how you get invited to the dinner, Bob Sheddy laughed and said "Everyone is welcome at the Annual Santa's Christmas Dinner, and the only prerequisite is having the Christmas Spirit." In fact, some families have made it a tradition to bring their family to the dinner year after year.

The event was held for many years at the local Elks Club, Drumheller Inn, and Stavros, Drumheller Boston Pizza, O'Sheas and now Yavis' is the venue. Mike and Amy Yavis have acted in a generous manner allowing their restaurants to be the site of the event for the last few years.

The meal includes a homemade turkey dinner with all the fixings, coffee, pie, dessert, chocolates and great company.

Every Year, the organizers also have a shuttle running for those who need a ride to the event and back to your house. They also deliver care packages to your home for those who can't make it out.

Thank you to everyone who attended our dinner this year and to all the volunteers who gave their time on Christmas to make this year's Christmas dinner especially wonderful for our guests!
