Hanna is located in East-Central Alberta within the Canadian Badlands, Hanna is approximately 2 hours north-east of Calgary and one hour from Drumheller.  Hanna is situated at the junction of two major highways, #9 extends east and west and is the main transportation route between Calgary and Saskatoon and #36 extends North and South.  Highway #36 was selected as an appropriate highway to remember Alberta Veterans because it runs most of the length of the province for 626 kilometers from Warner to Lac La Biche.  Approximately 2500 vehicles travel the Veterans Memorial Highway each day.

Whether it be industrial, retail, tourism or retirement related, opportunity is abundant in Hanna.

Hanna takes pride in offering urban amenities with a country flair.  The high quality of life is very evident here.  Hanna has an impressive infrastructure including the schools and hospital, all newly renovated, and you can see Hanna is preparing for the future.  In Hanna, you'll know your neighbors, and they'll know you.

Recreation is second to none for communities this size.  From tennis to swimming to indoor racquet sports, young and old alike will have recreation choices in Hanna.  One mile west of town are Helmer Dam and Fox Lake, sites of some of the best fishing you'll find.  Twenty minutes to the southeast is Prairie Oasis Park, a boater's paradise.

Business development in Hanna is approached as a combined effort with the Town of Hanna and the Chamber of Commerce.  Its mandate is to promote economic activity within the Hanna trading area by supporting existing businesses, encouraging new companies and providing information and support to up and coming entrepreneurs.
