This weekend is Family Day Weekend. Who doesn't love a 3 day weekend??
For this week's Sunday Funday ideas I am going to focus on some things to do within Richmond.
Why not check out the Steveston Winter Farmers & Artisans Market? The market runs from 10am - 3pm and is located at 3rd Avenue & Moncton, within the Gulf of Georgia Cannery (during the winter months). With a motto like, "Make It, Bake It, Grow It, Catch It" you'll be sure to find some great local farm products and unique artisan wares. While you're in the neighbour you may want to check out the sights at Fisherman's Wharf or take a stroll to Garry Point Park. If you can't make it to the market this Sunday, don't worry! Try again on Feb. 23, Mar. 9, Mar. 23 or Apr. 6!!
Britannia Heritage Shipyards - Walk the boardwalk and learn about the history of the site through interpretive signage or take a complimentary tour of the shipyard. You may even get to observe an ongoing boat restoration as you tour some of the oldest shipyard builings in BC, many dating back to 1885. This is a free event that runs from 12-5pm on Sundays until April 30, 2014.
It's kids movie night Feb. 9th!! All ages are welcome and admission is by donation. They will be playing "Ice Age - Dawn of the Dinosaur". Lawn chairs, blanets & beach attire are encouraged. What a great family fun atmosphere!
Just remember, it doesn't remember what you do on Sunday as long as you're having fun!
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
