Fun, Fun… and more fun, that’s the core element to all of the YMCA Summer Camps! Learn to cook, draw, swim, play a sport or be a leader – summer camps are designed to spark their imagination, build confidence, independence, and communication skills. The YMCA offers camps for children and youth, beginning at aged 3 to 16, with free pre and post camp care.

Jitter Bugs (3–4yrs) | This half-day camp is a great way to experience the wonders of the YMCA through fun activities and games that promote peer interaction and cooperation. Campers must be potty trained and are required to bring a nutritious and allergen-aware snack with them.

Tiny Trekkers (4–5yrs) | Tiny Trekkers is perfect for the active and curious preschooler preparing for a full-day camp. Campers will build confidence and independence through themed-activities that promote YMCA core values. An international component celebrating diversity through games and activities is also included.

Silly Science (4–6yrs) | Geared for active and curious preschoolers that are ready for a full-day camp. Campers will build confidence and independence through age-appropriate games and science activities that promote YMCA core values and science know-how at a beginner level. If your preschooler has a passion for experimenting, they will have an outstanding time exploring the silly side of science. Learn about slimy creatures, oozing fluids, and other disgusting stuff. Come prepared to explore and get dirty.

Lil’ Sportsters (5–6yrs)| Develop physical literacy skills in sport-based games. Lil’ Sportsters is a chance to introduce your child to the fun, friend-building world of team sports. Campers will also have the opportunity to swim, play, and engage in other activities like crafts, songs and games.

Circus Camp (6–9yrs) | You have always wanted to run off and join the circus. Now here’s your chance! Let us explore drama, performing arts, physical literacy, fundamental movement skills and communication. We will teach you juggling, flower sticks, face painting, hula hoop, and hand balancing to get you prepared for your final act on Friday! Join us for fun and excitement while you discover your inner clown and hone your slapstick skills!

Kids in the Kitchen (6–9yrs) | Bring out your inner chef with daily cooking sessions where you get to eat what you make. Explore food through games, recipe and meal planning, a supermarket scavenger hunt, and basic cooking. Participants will also get the chance to tour a real kitchen! Please advise your counsellor of any allergies your child may have. Campers will participate in approximately two hours of cooking-related activities per day while experiencing camp games, songs, crafts, a field trip and swimming throughout the week.

Steve Nash Youth Basketball Camp (9–12yrs) | SNYB as a Summer Day Camp! A national youth basketball initiative designed to develop fundamental skills, sportsmanship and a love for the Game of basketball. This is a partnership program with Basketball Alberta using the SNYB curriculum. Progressive drills, skill-based games and modified scrimmages will be used to improve competence in a fun camp atmosphere. Also includes other Camp activities like games, songs, swimming, and arts with a basketball theme. All participants receive their own SNYB ball, ball bag and jersey.

Creative Expressions (9–12yrs)| Aspiring Michelangelos will love the combination of visual and performance arts in this inspired camp. Campers will participate in art craft, beading, papier-mâché and creative fitness classes such as yoga, Zumba-tonic, fitness dance and swimming. Participants will also get a chance to check out a festival or art venue.

Youth Fitness and Sport (12–16yrs) | Expand your fitness horizons with everything the YMCA has to offer. Learn basic fitness concepts and improve sports performance through TRX, Yoga, the YMCA weight room, sport-specific training, land and aqua sports, Cyclefit, Bootcamp and more. Participants also get the opportunity to visit another multi-sport complex.

Pow-HER-ful (12–16yrs) |  Calling all girls! This camp is just for you. Meet new people while developing healthy habits in this fun and informative environment. This camp will keep you moving with individual and group exercises that are both exciting and invigorating. Campers will have an opportunity to try a variety of fitness classes, circuit training, swimming and more.
