On June 16, 2016, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) launched a new bus route, Route 121.
Blue Jays Way – CityPlace
The 121 Fort York – Esplanade bus route was created to address the neighbourhoods of CityPlace and Fort York’s growing population and improve overall area transit in southern downtown Toronto. This new route will connect at Union Station and operate every 15 minutes or better, all day, every day according to the TTC (source: www.ttc.ca).
Route 121 buses drive along Front Street West, turn along Blue Jays Way and over to Bremner Boulevard and then cross Spadina Avenue to Fort York Boulevard. The service continues across Bathurst along Fort York Boulevard to Lake Shore Boulevard West and loops back via Fleet Street and backtracks along the same way to Union Station connecting to the Yonge and University subway line.

For those who are not frequent transit riders, the adult cash fare for transit is $3.25. With one fare one can transfer from the bus to the subway at Union without additional costs, and vice versa from Union to the bus route. However, there is a discounted cash fare of just $2.00 for Seniors who are 65 years and older and for students, 13 to 19 years old. Children 12 years old and under ride the TTC for free. The TTC offers discounted day, weekly and monthly transit passes, and many businesses offer discounted monthly transit passes.
