Essex Public School Community Playground Needs Community Support

Essex Public School Needs Our Help!

Staff, students, parents and community members are looking for Voters! They have made it to the Semi-Final Round in the Aviva Community Fund competition.  Voting for this round starts December 2nd.

Aviva is giving away $1 million dollars to Canadian groups this year.  The competition is comprised of 3 rounds of online voting, semi-final round voting and finally the top ideas will be judged.

Essex Public School students just got access to their school grounds a few short months ago - just school grounds - no play equipment, no swings, no slides, no soccer field, no track.  They have a few trees and grass.  The Playground Committee has worked really hard in conjunction with students and parents to see what type of equipment they would like on the playground.  Fundraising so far has raised about $15,000 but it's not enough. It will take almost $350,000 to complete the project.  Essex is a unique school in that there is a special needs program - the playground has been designed with these students in mind - wheelchair accessible equipment, nature area, sensory boards, etc.  The goal is for the entire community to benefit from this amazing project.

Help make their Playground Dream a Reality - voting is quick and free.

Register online at AvivaCommunityFund.org and start voting for IDEA #5387 December 2nd. Each email address registered is given 10 votes for the round.
