Unless you're selling in a hot vacation market, a number of factors usually dictate a more measured selling pace.  Consider that there is a smaller and more specialized pool of potential Buyers and factor in the fact that the selling cycle is limted by seasonal considerations.  There are usually more Sellers than Buyers which affords the Buyers the luxury of taking their time.  However,the fact that each property is unique means that when the right Buyer comes along, the SOLD sign goes up!  Market interest is naturally strongest in spring through early summer.  Look for activity to increase again in late summer and early fall when more new listings enter the market.
