I was a professional ski racer until the age of 30. Before that I had a slew of different jobs, in the oilfield, construction, mining, surveying and heavy equipment operations. After retiring from racing in 1991 I worked for Mizuno sports in Japan for 3 years as a ski tester and mentor/coach to young ski racers. Upon moving back to Canada in 1994 I became the owner operator of a ski shop in Whistler for 10 years. I purchased my first revenue property in 1996. By 2010 I owned and managed 7 rental units in the Whistler/Pemberton area. From 2012 to present I worked as a roadshow sales vendor in Costco stores across Canada and various other retail outlets selling cookware and cold press juice machines. I was the top sales man in the company for the last 3 years. I have kept my foot in the door as a ski racing coach and ski instructor in Whistler and Vancouver with the Grouse Mountain Tyee ski club since the mid 90’s
My parents are both of European decent. My father was from Germany and my mother from Italy. My spoken German is still fairly good as my German grand parents lived with us since I was 8 years old. My father passed away in 2005. My 85 year old mother is in excellent shape and remains an inspiration to me and my family to this day.
I am happily married to my wonderful wife, Michelle Lewon. We have been together with since January 1998. We have 2 beautiful daughters Roxanna 14 and Gemma 11. Michelle has worked for the Fairmont hotel chain for almost 20 years. She is director of sales for western Canada, selling the 3 Fairmont hotel properties in in down town Vancouver.
