The real estate market in Markham is a wild west of sorts. Looking at the statistics we see that homes are selling on an average of 22 days which does give buyers some time to review a home before making an offer. Home prices have increased 8.6% since this time last year and the number of homes sold has also increased 8.1%.
What's NOT increasing is the number of homes for sale, in fact if no new homes came to the market, in less than 2 months there would be nothing left to sell! Of course all this news has many sellers believing they can simply put up a For Sale sign and the home will be gone in no time but this is patently untrue as buyers have also adjusted to the market and are no longer making blind offers on any home. In fact, 1 in every 2 homes on the market doesn't sell and the most common reason is......the Sellers are asking too much money!
If you're considering selling your home be sure you hire an agent who not only knows the numbers, but also knows what they mean. After all you want to SELL your house, not just LIST it!
