Pointe- Claire is a suburb located on the island of Montreal, Quebec. Canada. It is largely residential but is also the site of a lot of economic activity, such as retail, light manufacturing and various corporate offices. It is located in an area called the West Island, which is comprised of the city of Pointe-Claire, Dollard des Ormeaux, Dorval, Beaconsfield, Baie d’Urfe, Kirkland, Sainte-Anne de Bellevue, Senneville, Pierrefonds, Roxboro, Ile-Bizard, and Sainte-Genevieve.
The city is bordered on the East side by Dorval, North side by Dollard des Ormeaux, West side by Beaconsfield and Kirkland then Lake saint-Louis on the south side. There are two major highways running through it Highway #20 and the TransCanada #40.
What you will begin to notice while scoping out the community as a place to live is the diversity of housing. You will find condominiums from $200,000 to homes over 1,000,000 dollars. The bulk of Pointe-Claire’s real estate happens to fall between the mid three hundred to mid four hundred thousand dollar price range.
One of the attractive things about Pointe-Claire is the multiple places to shop ex.: The well known Fairview shopping mall, Plaza Pointe-Claire, Walmarts, Home depot, Réno-Dépôt, Toy “R” Us and much more. There are also many restaurants, parks, and two movie theaters ten minutes from Pointe-Claire.
If you're expecting many out of town visitors coming for an event, there are three major hotels in Pointe-Claire, The Holiday inn suites, Quality suites and Comfort inn.

Sports and Leisure
If you like being on the water there’s the Pointe-Claire canoe club, Yacht club, swimming club and the Aquatic center. For nature lovers, there’s the Terra-Cotta nature Park with six kilometers of paths. If golf is your game become a member at the Beaconsfield golf course in Pointe-Claire. For a more quiet activity, you may want to visit the Pointe-Claire Library or the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre.
Transportation and commuting
There’s access to three commuter train stations (Point-Claire, Valois and Cedar Park) where you can take the train to downtown Montreal In a very short period of time; you can be in the city while maintaining a suburban lifestyle as well. The city is also served by several bus routes with a major terminal at the Fairview shopping mall.
Pointe-Claire has ten respectable and accomplished schools in its district.
The English schools - Lester B.Pearson school board has two elementary schools: Clearpoint and St.John Fisher and four high schools: John Rennie, Lindsay Place, St.Thomas and Horizon
The French schools - Commission scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys has three elementary schools: Marguerite-Bourgeoys, Pointe-Claire and Saint-Louis and one high school Ecole secondaire Felix-Leclerc.
According to the Census Bureau, as of 2016 Pointe-Claire had a total population of 31,380.
