Furnace Filters

Without stating the obvious, boy its cold outside.  That humming you now hear as you are watching T.V. in your Family Room... is the heating device we affectionately call the furnace.  If you were to take the occasion to visit this appliance, you will note that there is a part of the furnace that has this thing called a filter.  You remove and observe this thing and note that it is a little discoloured with an assorrtment of pet hairs adhering to it, but what the heck...and you put it back in its receptacle.  Do yourself a favour.  Get the size of the existing filter, go out to the nearest "home" store and buy a replacement filter.  The next favour you can do for yourself  is calculate your heating costs for the previous year and multiply by 12%.  That is the amount of probable savings in heating costs by simply replacing your filter on a consistent basis.  Final score:  Heat savings on a $1,000.00 annual bill = $120.00.  Cost of 4 filters ( replace quarterly) approx $20.00.  Net savings $100.00.  The next favour you can do for yourself is go out to dinner on the money you saved.
