THE BIG MOVE!!

I believe it would be good Company Policy for every Associate in a real estate office to move from one home to another, say, every 2-3 years. The experience would keep every realtor in touch with the sometimes overwhelming logistics involved.  I just completed my first move in 14 years....and believe me, its not a young man's sport.  I believe there is a very real opportunity to create a new Industry called the "moving planner".  It would be so convenient to hand over the reins of responsibility to a third party and let them run with it.  Let them co-ordinate selection of the mover; the packing process; the getting the old home in presentable condition for the new owner; the extensive "to do" list including address changes/new licenses/ notifying all your friends; shutting down and final readings on utilities; signing up for new utilities; doing a cleaning on the new home prior to moving in; having someone show you how to operate the new central air unit; hooking up appliamces and the dreaded unpacking of boxes and arranging the furniture in the new home....and this only represents the first 1/3rd of the list.  Anyway...1,000's of homeowners get through the process every year. The end result of my recent experience is that "move" is now a very BIG word....and I will make sure I advise my associates to visit their clients on moving day with their first meal in one hand and lotsa libations in the other.  I want to thank Steve Krofchick from STEVE's Moving and Storage (519-748-1305) for his first class service in getting our valuables moved and Gordon Ross,my lawyer,  for the professional job he did in getting us to sign on the right line...and getting the legalities completed seamlessly.  Now...I'm jumping into the pool ( 34 degrees out as we speak).
