When it comes to moving, you’re probably excited to leave your old place in exchange for your new property. Moving can be a complicated process; packing all of your belongings and transferring them from one home to another is a lot of work. Your main concern while moving should be if you’re packing your belongings properly.
Do you have the right materials and a safe place to store them throughout the moving process? All boxes aren’t made the same!
Whether you’re moving, or putting your belongings temporarily into storage, you have probably found yourself driving around from store to store to collect cardboard boxes. The common problem with this practice is the boxes are often different sizes, they likely don’t close properly, or even have lids. You can’t rely on them to stack quite effectively. One box on top of another one and it’s a teeter-totter effect and just not an effective way of packing.
I recommend using boxes designed specifically for the item you’re trying to pack. “There are special boxes for everything,” homeowners can purchase boxes meant for clothing, dishes, flat screen televisions and lamps. Use bubble wrap, newsprint or packing paper when placing items in a box, these materials will prevent your belongings from being damaged.
Moving into your dream home doesn’t have to be a nightmare. Follow proper packing practices to keep your belongings safe and consider your self-storage options. Or, have a storage container delivered to your home. Your belongings can be packed without moving them to a storage location
