Buying a home is a complicated financial transaction and usually the largest single investment a person or family will ever make. Imagine the challenge if English isn’t your first language or you have limited financial literacy.
To help meet the need for plain language tools to assist first-time buyers through every step of the process, Buying a Home in Manitoba is being released during Financial Literacy Month. This resource was created specifically with newcomers in mind, but it will assist anyone preparing for home ownership.
The illustrated booklet content includes plain language sections on budgeting, types of mortgages, applying for a mortgage, finding a home, working with REALTORS®, making an offer to purchase and finalizing your mortgage.
Buying a Home in Manitoba is being distributed through REALTORS®, at banks, libraries, and through newcomer and settlement service and housing agencies.
