The majority of residential house sales falls into 3 price ranges which make up 59% of our activity! The August 2011 MLS stats show:
- 16% $150,000 - $199,999
- 24% $200,000 - $249,999
- 19% $250,000 - $299,999
This is of interest as Winnipegers continue to enjoy a low cost of housing and have a very good housing stock in which to choose from. Yes, there is a fabulous amount of $500,000+ homes sold in town and wonderful new and old neighbourhoods to live in BUT most of the population does not live in the glamorous homes.
With the upcoming election, October 4, I think we need to remember that our community is very diverse and broad in its needs. And also broad and diverse in the profile of tax payers contributing to the coffers of our government.
So remind your government that they work for you. Position yourself behind 2 important issues, whatever they might be and make a point of being heard.
