Personal Background

I was born and raised in Nelson BC and moved to the coast in my teens. I graduated from POCO High in 1975 and entered the work force. From 1979 - 1981 I attended BCIT in the Radio Broadcast program and in 1981 I started my career in radio with CKPG in Prince George. That same year I was married and we raised 3 boys who are now raising families of their own. After stints in PG, Terrace and Prince Rupert we moved to Salmon Arm in 2001 where I was the GM/GSM of EZ Rock Radio. After nearly 13 years with the station I found myself in search of a new career. I joined Century 21 in January of 2014 and have loved learning a new business as well as applying the skills I have developed over the past 30 years.

Community Involvement

Over the past 13 plus years in the Shuswap I have been involved with dozens of community events. As an MC and amateur auctioneer,  I have worked with many groups in the area including local Rotary clubs, Chamber of Commerce's in Salmon Arm and the South Shuswap, Salmon Arm Business Awards, and a number of All Candidate Forums. For the past 10 years I have hosted the opening ceremonies for the Relay for Life in Salmon Arm. I am currently on the Executive of the Canoe Boat Club, a Board Member of the Downtown Improvement Association and a member of the Community Futures of the Shuswap board.

Professional Interests

I take great pride in the community I live and work in and have spent many years giving back through my work with non-profit groups like the Shuswap Hospital Foundation, Relay for Life and the Salvation Army Food Bank. I currently sit on the Salmon Arm Downtown Improvement Association which I've been a part of for the past 5 years and the Community Futures of the Shuswap board where I also sit on their Business Development Committee.

Personal Interests

Being blessed to live in the Shuswap there are no shortage of things to do. In the winter we love to ski, both cross country and downhill and in the summer it's boating on the lake. Bike riding and hiking make up a good part of the spring and fall. We like to travel to other communities in the Thomspon Okanagan region for special events, shopping and dining.

Professional Background

For over 30 years I worked in the Broadcast Industry. The first 15 of those years I was on-air at a number of radio stations throughout central BC including stops in Prince George, Terrace and Prince Rupert. From 2001 to 2013 I was the GM/GSM of a chain of stations covering Salmon Arm, Revelstoke and Golden. For most of my career I have been heavily involved in the communities I lived in, working with non-profit and community groups as well as spending time on various boards. My skills as an effective communicator have been honed over the past 30 years in the communications and sales arenas.

We met Ron when he showed us a house for a colleague of his that wasn't even his listing. We immediately liked that about him- Ron isn't just about making a sale for himself, he really cares about finding you the right home. Through talking to him that night we got a sense of who he was and what he was about. Still undecided as to who to use as our realtor Ron didn't push the matter, he just let us know he could represent us if we wanted him to. Ron doesn't make assumptions, he asks questions. He doesn't force his opinion, he listens to yours. Whether it was choosing to use him as a Realtor, or when it came time to make an offer, we always felt 100% confident and happy with the choice WE had made as opposed to feeling like we had been sold to. Throughout the purchase process Ron was a true professional and worked extremely hard for us. With Jason starting a new job and me in a Masters level course we simply wouldn't have been able to get done what we needed to without his help and support. Whether it was reminding us of the paperwork that needed to be filled out or appt's that needed to be made he made sure we were on top of things and knew what we needed to do to make it to getting the keys. His support even included listening to me vent about all the adulting I was having to do! Which brings me to my last point- on top of all that he is as a Relator he is just a really nice down to earth guy that is fun to be around. We would highly recommend him to anyone that wants to thoroughly ENJOY their home buying experience!
