Does anything beat the taste of a fresh crisp apple? Or the smell of an apple pie baking in the oven?? With Fall having arrived it's now the perfect season for fresh apples and here in Halton we have many fabulous options when it comes to Pick Your Own farms. Apple picking is a fun family day out and kids will love it when you let them help you do the yummy pie baking afterwards.
As a kid in Milton my family's go-to for apple picking was Chudleighs. It was a little different back then but their commitment to quality and family fun has remained the same. They didn't have the animals and awesome play area back then, but I do remember playing for hours in that great barn of hay!! If you grew up here you'll know what I'm talking about :)
Another Milton favorite for apple picking is Andres Scenic Acres. They've also got some cute animals, a great play area and free hay wagon rides. If you get a bit peckish while there they offer drinks and snacks in the farm market. In the summer they even offer an amazing BBQ. It's always good to go here when you're hungry.
If picking apples yourself isn't your thing Halton has loads of great farms where you can purchase apples already picked. There are always great super fresh apples and so many other fresh fruits and veggies at these places that it's hard to imagine buying t hem anywhere else. They often sell fresh baked goods too so if baking isn't your thing either they can help you out with dessert time.
If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, or perhaps it's your turn to bring dessert to Thanksgiving dinner and you need some apple-induced inspiration, visit one of Halton's many orchards, and enjoy!!!!
