It's the home accessory that doubles as a magic trick (or art canvas?).
When Steve Noviello, a Dallas-based journalist at Fox 4 News, went shopping at Nebraska Furniture Mart, he never expected to uncover the next big thing in home decor. But that's exactly what happened when these spectacular "mermaid pillows" caught his eye.
While the pillows appear to be covered in navy sequins at first glance, anyone can easily alter the design in seconds. As you swipe your hand over the pillow, silver sequins are revealed.
Noviello and his friend found the pillows so entertaining that they posted a live broadcast video to Facebook while they were still in the store. The two men basically just mess around with the pillows, creating everything from monograms to geometric designs. They even try to talk decorating trends, which, admittedly, made us laugh so hard tears welled up in our eyes. But believe it or not, approximately 1,000 people tuned in to watch their goofy antics.
Since posting it, Noviello's video has been viewed over 29 million times, and people from around the world have been emailing him to ask where they can buy their own mermaid pillows. These guys may not be designers, but we certainly think they're on to something here.
The pillows in the above video are being sold at Nebraska Furniture Mart for $100 - $169 with a range of different colors and sizes available.
