2014 Home Sales Record Second Best!

The numbers are out!  And the Barrie & District Association of Realtors says 2014 will be remembered as being an outstanding year - second only to 2007.  Not only was the number of homes sold up by more than 3% over 2013 - but the price was up too - by more than 7%.  President Bruce Shipley credits the tight market for the largest year-over-year price increase in nine years.  The average price for all homes sold across the region was $341,023.  The average price for homes sold within the City of Barrie itself was lower, siting at $319,558 - while the average price for homes sold outside the City of Barrie was higher - at $371,671.  As we head into 2015, the number of listings currently on the market remains the lowest in most of the last decade.  And with interest rates currently sitting at historically low levels - it promises to be another busy year for buyers and sellers.  The Barrie & District Association of Realtors includes the City of Barrie, and part or all of the surrounding areas including Innisfil, Essa, Bradford-West Gwillimbury, Springwater, Oro-Medonte, and Clearview.
