June Breaks Home Sales Record

Another month - another record is broken in home sales on the Barrie & District Board!  Property sales soared through the roof in June 2015 - also marking the third best level of any month on record.  Homes within the City of Barrie were a hot commodity - with home sales up nearly 30% year-over-year.  The first half of the year also marked the best start to any year on record.  Board President Bruce Shipley credits the low number of listings overall around the Greater Golden Horseshoe Region - along with strong demand.  The year to date average price for homes sold in the Barrie area was $365,309 - up more than 7% from the same period in 2014.  The month of June also set a record for the number of homes coming on the market - however, the total number of homes on the market in June was still at record low levels.  And with interest rates taking another cut by the Bank of Canada, it only means better rates for buyers for what homes are out there!  Happy buying and selling!
