Marching On!

The numbers are out - and they are up!  The Barrie & District Association of Realtors says the month of March went out like a lion - posting its second best ever month!  The number of sales recorded through the board was up 16.5% over March 2014.  On a year-to-date basis, home sales are also up - by more than 14% from the same quarter in 2014.  President Bruce Shipley says "The market remains very active - and with months of supply still running near record lows, sellers have the upper hand and prices are likely to continue to push higher."  And that seems to be proving true.  The year-to-date average price for all homes sold through the board was $348,062 - up 3.7% from the same period last year.  But while the number of listings remains below levels seen over most of the past decade, the month of March brought lots of new listings for buyers to choose from.  And as long as interest rates remain at historically low levels, both buyers and sellers have lots of opportunity in this busy Spring market!
