November Posts Strong Home Sales...!

As temperatures were dropping last month, the housing market remained hot throughout all of Simcoe County and District!  The Barrie & District Association of REALTORS Inc. reports sales were up by nearly 22% over last November!  And that marks the seventh month in a row of historically strong sales - putting the year 2014 on track to hit the highest annual level since 2007.  The average home price has also posted an increase of nearly 7% over 2013 - with some of the tightest market conditions on record this year.  The dollar value of all home sales in November set a record - topping more than $115 million - jumping 36.6% from year ago levels.  And it looks like it will remain a sellers market as we head into the winter months - as new listings dropped off last month to the lowest level in over a decade.  But activity shows no signs of slowing down - as the Bank of Canada rates announced yesterday will remain low - and that means there are lots of great mortgage deals to be found out there right now!  I guess in that sense - it is also a buyer's market!  So happy home shopping this holiday season!
