Title Insurance - Yes, Even for a Condo

As a Condominium Apartment owner, technically you don't own the "land" but rather, you own the "air space" inside the walls, ceiling and floor of your unit. When you purchased your Condominium, a Title Search was done to reveal defects in the Title of the unit along with any problems or liens which may occur against the condominium building or the complex itself.

Title Insurance can protect against unexpected expenses coming from accidental omissions or errors on the Status Certificate. If can also cover buyers against any obligation to remove improvements which encroach on other units or the common elements.

While traditional thought is that Title Insurance is only for Freehold Owners - think again.
