Make It Perfect!

Make It Perfect!

Imagine purchasing a bicycle for your child.  As you browse through the wide selection, you narrow the choices.  Ten-speed or three-speed?  Blue or red? One bike catches your eye, but as you begin to inspect it more closely you notice it has a flat tire.  The handlebar grips are scuffed too, and the head lamp has a broken lens.  You consider asking the store manager to lower the price, but decide it's wiser to find another make or model instead. After shopping around, you find the perfect bike in showroom condition - and make the purchase.  You've bought a bike any child would be proud of - at a fair price.

When making a home purchase, prospective buyers often experience the same situation.  They are searching for the home of their dreams.  They want to feel pride in the home they select, and they will pay a fair price when they find it. The contrary is also true.  A home offered for sale in less than showroom condition is often passed over by prospective purchasers.  After all, why make the largest purchase of a lifetime, and end up with damaged goods?  At best, those buyers would expect a deep discount on a home which fails to meet their expectations.

Is this a wake-up call for sellers?  It should be.  Wise sellers understand that before their home is shown to the first prospect, every needed repair must be completed.  The home should display unquestionable pride-of-ownership.

Preparing a home to achieve maximum impact with buyers is critical. Valuable guidance in this area is available to you.  A home which resembles a buyer's idea of a castle can excite the senses, supercharge emotions, and result sometimes in full price offers.
