Hey everybody, this one's for the potential first time home buyers out there(and even some food for thought for those of you who already own). So you're thinking of purchasing your first home? Good choice! That's a big step, and there's a lot to think about. Here's some key things you should be thinking about right now:
- What type of home do really want? There's so many options! (Traditional single-family home, condo, townhouse, etc.) To help with this, consider the lifestyle you want(Country life, condo life, etc) and your personal goals. This will help you choose a property that really suits your needs.
- Mortgage: How much of a mortgage can you get? This subject contains way more than what I want to put into this blog(contact me for more details) but some major factors you need to think about before applying for a mortgage are: your credit score, monthly income, how long you've been at your job, and any other debts you may currently have.
- Reality Check! Ok so now you feel you're ready for a mortgage, but one VERY important issue to consider is: how big of a mortgage can I actually afford? You have to realize that aside from your mortgage, you will have many other expenses to incur being a homeowner, don't leave yourself strapped for cash!
- Where to start? You've considered all of the above and you are ready to purchase?Congratulations! Now the next thing you should do is, get ahold of me! I'll walk you through the entire process, and together, we will work hard to get you into your very first home! Pride in ownership(especially your first home) is a wonderful thing and I can't wait to share the feeling with you.
